Massive 19th century Zulu Knobkerie (knobkerrie/knopkierrie/ knobkerrie) Heavy Fighting Club.

Just under 38" long (approximately 96.5cm long) with a 3"inch wide egg shaped head. Carved out of nice multi grained and multi coloured hardwood.

Good age patina.

Large Sudanese Dagger with very nice handle carved from lovely two tone ebony with rich patina, in the style normally found on Arm Daggers. The butt of the handle is finished off with a small, sharp ivory nipple.

The 10.25” (26cm) bowie style blade has some good age patina and some staining. It comes with its original scabbard covered in crocodile skin complete with belt loop. Good unusual item worthy of any collection.

Overall length in scabbard just under 17” (43cm).

Very unusual 19th century Sudanese sword, probably from the Tureg tribe. Probably a souvenir captured in the 1880s by British soldiers on campaign in the Sudan.

In over 30 years of collecting I’ve never seen one quite like this before, probably made for a high ranking officer or chief. Very well made leather covered scabbard with fantastic two toned diamond and chevron designs with two toned plaited leather in black and white. Two large rondle discs each with three tassels and plaited hanging straps.

The blade length is 26.25” (66.75cm) with a false edge 3.25” (8cm) to aid penetration when thrusting. The thick, sturdy, curved blade has geometric designs engraved to one side with some filed notches and a cross carved to the back of the blade.

The hilt has brass “D” shaped guard and large brass ferrel, brass back strap and pommel with deeply carved geometric designs. Wooden grip which is covered in black cloth bound with copper wire. Some of the cloth is worn away showing nice wood with good age patina.

Overall length in scabbard 31” (79cm).

Good early Sudanese Armed Dagger. Hardwood hilt (ebony with good two tone grain) in classic form with large disk pommel with unusual large carved ivory spike to the base of the handle.

The 6.25” (16cm) hand forged blade has unusual multi ribbed (ridges) running its length giving a corrugated effect which makes the blade very strong.

Complete with its original leather scabbard covered in lizard skin and twisted leather arm loop.

Overall length 11.5” (29cm).

Good World War One or World War Two Kukri -Gurkha Rifles Fighting Knife.

Large and heavy blade of approximately 13 inches on the curve with nicely carved out Chow/ Notch the stop the enemy’s blood from flowing in to the Gurkha’s fingers.
Steel bolster/Thumb rest between the carved Hard wood (possibly Rose wood) Hilt with nice grain and patina.

The handle is set with four brass discs (two to each side) and two strengthening bands and a large brass diamond-shape pommel cap to the butt of the hilt. All with good age patina.

Comes with a leather covered wooden scabbard with incised geometric patterns and a large steel chape end.

Overall very good condition with good age patina with some signs of expected age ware to the scabbard etc and some dark staining to the blade in places.

Overall length of Kukri approximately 18” /46cm.

Good antique Masai Warriors Sword from Kenya. Strong, sturdy blade of 14” (35.5cm) long in the classic flared end form. Wooden leather covered handle. Complete with its original wooden hard shrunken leather covered scabbard and belt loop. Very good age patina overall.

Overall length in scabbard is 20.7”(just under 52.75cm).

African arm dagger as worn on the upper part of the arm. Probably West African. Very nice leather hilt with dark age patina and grip covered in lizard skin. At the base of the hilt is a triangle shaped blade used as a Skull Crusher.

Unusual shaped 6.5” (16.5cm) blade terminating in a wicked stiletto point. Some incised decoration to the edges and dark staining and very light pitting in places. Comes complete with its
stiffened moulded leather scabbard, part covered with lizard skin and has a nice plaited leather hanging loop.

Very good age patina overall.

Overall length in scabbard 10.5” (26.75cm).

Scarce Early 19th Century African Dagger possibly from Somalia. Real Water Buffalo Horn and Bone Hilt separated with three brass bolsters. Good stylised brass pommel and brass thumb guard nearest the blade. Curved jambiya style blade with deep central fuller to each side

Just under 10” (25cm) blade. Some dark patched and light pitting. Complete with its thick hide/leather scabbard with incised geometric designs to the front with seven large iron studs (with come studs missing). Stitching to the back of the scabbard has come away but the scabbard is very stiff and still holds the blade firmly.

Very good age patina overall. Very nice, unusual dagger.

Overall length in scabbard is 15” (38cm).

Silver Caucasian Kindjal/ Quamma
A good Silver mounted Caucasian Kindjal/Quamma, multi-fullered double edged blade approx 14 inch (36cm). German silver scabbard with finely carved decoration, ropework with silver inlay and niello. The front of the niello is mounted on black Buffalo horn. The reverse side is also made of black Buffalo horn.
The scabbard is damaged halfway down at the front, a thin piece approx 3cm long is missing with a crack across the front, some of the niello work is also missing. Makers mark on the blade. Overall length is 20.75”inch(approx 53cm).

Large Moro Barong/ Barung
Large Moro Barong/Barung from the southern Philippines. Large 18”inch (46cm) hand forged leaf shaped blade, grip made out of aluminium which probably ages this piece to around WW2. Nicely carved exotic wood handle in the form of a cockatoo bird (one chip missing from the crest). Very nice tiger striped grain to the wood almost opalescent in appearance, comes in its original scabbard made of exotic wood also with a very nice opalescent tiger striped grain.
The scabbard is also complete with attractive mother of pearl inlay. 27” inch (70cm).

Horn Fist Swordstick
Very good Antique Swordstick, shaft and grip made of bamboo with dark age patina terminating in a brass feral with steel tip. 19.75”inch (just over 50cm) square section blade with dark patina and black age spots. Top of the cane is made from black Buffalo horn carved in the shape of a fist holding what appears to be a ribbed stick, between the finely carved fist and bamboo grip there is a gilded brass collar. This is a very fine stick in excellent condition overall length 38” inch (96.5cm).

Very good Sudanese Arm Dagger with Ivory Hilt and silver Pommel.Looks to be a Damask blade.
Some black staining/pitting to blade.Still a very good example.

Antique Islamic Jambiya style sword
Antique Islamic Jambiya style sword, possibly Sudanese/North African in very large proportions. The large Jambiya style curved blade measures 26” inch ( 66cm) on the outside curve, 24” inch (61.5cm) from tip to hilt. The blade is 2.75”inch (7cm) wide at its widest point. An 8 inch panel on both sides of the blade are finely engraved with Islamic verses from the Koran, with a central panel engraved with the word ‘Allah’ and other Islamic words which I cannot translate. Large wooden handle in classic Jambiya form with a central grip covered in copper wire with twisted sections. Overall length from the tip of the blade to the end of the hilt is 30” inch (66cm).

Wild Boar tusk handled Sudanese arm dagger
Good vintage Sudanese arm dagger with real ivory/wild boar tusk handle with large copper feral. The pommel is decorated with sterling silver disc with English hallmark. Hand forged doubled edged blade in good form 5.5” inch (14cm) with an ‘S’ shaped maker’s mark to both sides. Comes with its two-tone leather covered scabbard with classic twisted leather arm loop. Overall length 10” inch (25.5cm).

Very well made leather covered scabbard with fantastic geometric designs. The scabbard housing a brass hilted bi-knife with incised designs and 3 fullers to each side of its 5.25” inch (13.5cm) blade. The sword has a very large 22.5” inch (56.5cm) blade, 2.75” inch (7cm) at its widest point. Both sides of the finely decorated with geometric designs and multiple fullers. Large pierced brass cross guard. The very large brass handle is made up with what looks like ivory or bone segments and large buffalo flying saucer shaped discs, the middle one is missing a large piece. Overall length 36.25”inch (92cm).

Very large antique Sudanese Tureg Kaskara sword in classic cruciform style with a brass covered handle, flared pommel tip in the form of 3 pyramids, the last one is made of copper, each side of the hand guard is decorated with a pyramid (4 in total), The front side of the hand guard is decorated with punched geometric designs. Stiffened leather scabbard with geometric designs and punched decorated brass band near the front of throat. Large brass chape end with incised decoration. Hand forged 31” inch (79cm) blade in the Medieval crusader style with 3 fullers (blood grooves) to each side. Overall length in scabbard is 39” inch (99cm). Is good condition for the age, the scabbard has wear and tear to the leather with 2 splits to one side of the scabbard.

Leather covered handle with plaited reed decoration and large white alloy pommel. Scabbard is decorated with leather tassels and large leather buttons which are also decorated with vegetable fibre. The bottom of the scabbard is in the classic flared form. 21 “ inch (53.5cm) curved hand forged blade (with some pitting and black staining). Overall length in scabbard is 30” inch (76cm).

Long bamboo Swagger swordstick.
The bamboo shaft housing a round flat section blade of 9.75” inch (25 cm). The shaft of the stick is bamboo with bullet shaped steel feral at the tip and a steel collar, the bamboo handle is topped with a silver knob carved in the form of a camel stretching his neck eating leaves off a tree, also another tree with a hut next to it in the design. The stick was possibly owned by an officer in the camel corps.
Overall length of the stick is just under 29” inch (73.5 cm).
