Eskrima -Kali -Arinis. Doce Pares and Estilo Libre multi style systems

Eskrima was developed in the Philippines by the peasant people during the civil, tribal and world wars. Translated as “skirmish”, the main weapon is a simple ‘rattan’ stick.

Once you have picked up the basics, you can soon turn the most useless of objects, such as a rolled-up newspaper, into an imposing weapon.

KickFit’s eskrima classes are graded in “Estilo Libre Eskrima” which is Master Hudson’s own system and includes:

  • single stick
  • double stick
  • stick & knife
  • double knife
  • sword & knife
  • nunchakus
  • pocket sticks
  • empty hand techniques

Kickfit’s Eskrima classes concentrate on all facets of the art of Eskrima and involve techniques for:

  • disarms
  • takedowns
  • pressure points
  • counter attacks
  • blocking
  • coordination drills
  • twirling drills

The sport side of Eskrima consists of wearing protective clothing, pads, gloves and involves full contact sparring. This is also practiced at the academy and Kickfit has an incredible history of achievement in national and international competitions including multiple world champions.

All classes are suitable for complete beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
